My name is Ayadh Farooq, alias Doc Mccurdy and I come from the Oasis city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Actually it is not really an Oasis but a port city. I am most interested in writing Poems, a sample poem is provided below, which was actually published in The National Society of Poets, USA in their annual book ~ The Path not taken.
It is entitled:
"Memory"
Tears keep flowing down my cheek,
Large droplets,
and they disappear,
Under my chin and forever gone,
like my own life and time...
Then one such droplet,
lingers on,
so stubborn,
not willing to let go;
Like a memory in my mind,
destined to remain forever.
The mordant taste of the saline,
Albeit in unpleasant moments,
feels so sweet,
While pain remains, it brings
more reminiscences of good times,
and a respite, although brief
in the sadness of one's life.

Alright! Eternal Life is finally in print. The book that took me 12 years to write. It is a sort of story of loss and rebirth, of spirituality and astral projection. Actually, it is a saga of an American family coming to terms with life in The United Arab Emirates (then Trucial States) in the late 1960's.
